DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established during the year 2001-2002, recognized by AICTE and affiliated to ANNA UNIVERSITY. The department offers a four year degree program in Electronics and Communication Engineering with an initial intake of 60. The intake increased to 120 students since 2002-2003. A two year post graduate program ME in VLSI has been introduced with an annual intake of 18 students during the year 2010-2011.

2. To prepare students successfully by combining fundamental engineering Knowledge, core leadership skills and the practical experience gained at the college to turn ideas in to reality for the benefit of society.
3. To train students to have strong sense of professionalism, high ethical standards, effective communication skills and teamwork.
4. To develop ability among students to analyze, design, experiment, simulate and evaluate system performance in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
5. To Provide students the freedom to upgrade learning environment to meet career objectives and industrial needs so as to pursue excellence and lifelong learning that contributes for a successful professional career.

Salient Features

1. Department has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi.
2. Department of ECE in association with PES University, Bangalore, has actively involved in mission mode students satellite project, Pico Satellite to familiarize and excite students in the area of satellite technology
3. LabVIEW academy has been established in association with National Instruments in the year 2010. Researchers are encouraged to carry out R&D; activities in the LabVIEW academy.
4. Department has faculty members with both industry and academic experience.
5. Department has been well equipped with required hardware as well as Software facilities for all the laboratories as per Anna university norms and also has more than 60 high configuration computers for Signal Processing, VLSI and Embedded Applications.
6. Wi-Fi facility is available in the campus for the faculties and students.
7. Value Added Courses such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, Embedded & VLSI, IBM, PLC & SCADA are conducted in association with Industry giants NI, Axis Global and Mathworks, periodically to update the technical knowledge and skills of students.
8. Faculties and Students have membership with Professional bodies such as ISTE, IE, IETE, IET and IEEE. Every academic year Industrial visits are organized by the department that gives the vision of Industry atmosphere to the students.
9. Department has signed MOUs with leading companies like Meera Laser Solutions, National Instruments, Trident Tech Labs, Iwiz Android Robot Private Limited, Innospace Automation Pvt. Ltd. And Axis global Technologies to provide, internship, in-plant training and placement to students.
10. Alumni of the ECE Department hold key positions in reputed organizations within the country as well as abroad.
