As for the latest guidelines, people who have been exposed to the virus and are not developing any symptoms related to the virus whatsoever don’t have to quarantine themselves. Rather than isolating, exposed people can use COVID protocol, including the use of space month for at least 10 days.

It means people who have been exposed to the virus are free to go to the school office until they are using a face mask and following all the COVID protocols.  

Apart from that, you can also test yourself with the RT PCR COVID test after five days of your exposure.

Previously, unregulated people who got exposed to the COVID virus were supposed to isolate themselves for at least five days. 

People who get exposed to the virus and test positive for the same will have to follow all the isolation and quarantine guidelines regardless of their vaccination status. 

Lastly, people who were hospitalized for the infection of COVID-19 in previous waves should consult with their healthcare provider as early as possible. They are once again more valuable to developing severe symptoms of COVID-19.

CDC Guidance for COVID Vaccine

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has not changed its perspective on the vaccine for COVID-19. The latest CDC guidance for the COVID vaccine also suggests that every person in the United States should get vaccinated regardless of their age.

There are two different series of COVID vaccines, and the recommendations for both series are given below.

Primary Series

  • The primary series is the first two doors over 3 dose vaccine series. Everyone above the age of six months in the United States is eligible to receive at least two dose or three-dose primary vaccine series.
  • You must make sure that you are maintaining a gap of at least eight weeks between the first and second shot of the primary series. Similar guidelines will also apply to any vaccine which contains three doses.
  • The Centers for Disease Control and prevention will consider a person fully vaccinated after completing two weeks of their final dose of the primary series.
  • Everyone below the age of 18 is only going to have the option to select a vaccine manufacturer between modena and Pfizer.
  •  People above the age of 18 are eligible to select their vaccine manufacturer from four different vaccine manufacturers, including Moderna, Pfizer, Novavax, and Johnson.

Booster Series

  • The Booster series of COVID vaccine is a one or two-dose vaccine series that is administered after five months of receiving the final dose of the primary series.
  • Everyone above the age of 5 in the United States is eligible to receive at least one booster shot of the COVID vaccine.
  • You must maintain at least a five months gap between the final dose of the primary series and the first booster shot.
  • Everyone above the age of 50 is also eligible for the second booster shot of the COVID vaccine.
  • There must be a gap of four months between the first and second booster shot of the COVID vaccine. 
  • People who are immunocompromised and above the age of 12 are also eligible to receive the second booster shot. 
  • You don’t have to get a certificate of being immunocompromised by your healthcare provider. The Centers for Disease control and prevention is going to accept self-declaration for the same.
  • Everyone will be considered up to date with the COVID vaccine as soon as they receive all of their eligible vaccines.

Novavax Has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States for a booster shot in the United States. 

Isolation and Precautions CDC COVID Guidance

Before we wrap our session, let’s take a quick look at the isolation and precautions CDC COVID guidelines. It has recently been updated by the Centers for Disease Control and prevention on their official website.

  • If you have tested positive for the virus, then you should isolate yourself as early as possible for five days. 
  • Kindly do not make any mistake of meeting your family during these five days as you will be most infectious during these days.
  • Kindly do not go to places where you are not able to keep your mask on your face.
  • You are not recommended to travel until the 6th day. Even after the 6th day, you should follow all the COVID protocols.
  • If possible, you can use a separate bathroom and try to improve your ventilation at home.
  • Keep monitoring your symptoms for any emergency warning signs. In case you develop any severe symptoms of COVID-19, then you should consult with your health care provider as early as possible.
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest everyone not use any shared items, including cups, utensils, and towels, while they are in isolation.

You can end your isolation if you don’t have any symptoms regarding COVID-19 after the 5th day. 

People can also end their isolation if they have some symptoms, but they can spend fever free for 24 hours without using any fever-reducing medication. At the same time, you should also make sure that your symptoms are improving over time.

  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest everyone follow every COVID protocol as much as possible.
  • Keep wearing your mask whenever you are in indoor settings, including restaurants, parties, theaters, etc.
  • You should never ignore any symptom related to COVID-19 whatsoever. Get yourself tested with at-home tests as soon as you develop any symptoms related to COVID-19.
  • Keep yourself updated with every latest guideline released by the Centers for Disease Control and prevention. 
  • Lastly, you can maintain social distancing whenever you are in public places, including public transport.
