About the Institution

SKR Engineering College established in the year 2001, is managed by Srinivasa Educational Trust. The programs run by the college are affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college is ISO 9001:2000 certified for its quality educational management. The college runs with the sole aim of imparting quality technical education to the students and to develop them into best engineers both in theory and practice. In addition to teaching science, technology and engineering, SKR strives to crown it with an exercise to instill into each student the virtues and skills needed to make a difference in the world of tomorrow.

The college offers six B.E./B.Tech courses in CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, Mechanical, Civil and 5 PG courses in CSE, VLSI, Power Electronics, MCA and MBA. About 2500 students are studying in the col- lege as on date.

The institution has a central library with collection of over 35,000 volumes and all national and international journals. The training and placement cell plays a vital role by arranging innumer- able on-campus recruitment process for the bene- fit of students. The institution had been associated with the various professional bodies like ISTE, IEEE, CSI, SAE, NSS and so on.

About the Department

Computer Science and Engineering(CSE)

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2001-2002 with an intake of 60 and the department is accredited by NBA. The department annual intake increased to 120 students from the year 2006-2007 and conducts M.E programme from the year 2010-2011. The Department has been recognized as a Centre for Research, by Anna University. The Department has the state-of-the-art facilities for various laboratories, Wi-Fi enabled class rooms to support e-Learning, and a department library.

Information Technology (IT)

IT department was established in the year 2001 with an intake of 60 students and the department is accredited by NBA. The department produced students with good academic results who have been serving in various MNCs all over the globe. The department are equipped with excellent lab facilities with latest technologies.

Master of Computer Application (MCA)

MCA programme was started in the year 2006. The intake capacity is 60 as approved by AICTE and Anna University. The Department of Computer Application aims at developing the academic skills to enable the students to interact with real life situa- tions to build the system and take up key positions in systems and project management in leading IT corporations. The department has separate state-of-art laboratories with high configuration systems.
